Two nights ago, I watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding again and one of my favourite bits is when Toula as a little girl, has to explain that she has moussaka in her lunchbox and other kids say ‘moose kaka?’ and giggle.
That part always makes me crave moussaka and it was lucky we went to Sahara on Swanston St for dinner Christmas Eve because I was able to satiate myself. Their moussaka is perfect! Our souvlaki and the turkish bread and trio of dips – especially the dukkah, were also very delicious. And Sahara has a great ambience and good service.
I don’t know why Toula was upset. I’d much rather have had moussaka in my lunchbox than have been popular at school.
I got to wear the vintage dress I picked up ten days ago for a tenner and my Costume National heels to dinner. I think the dress is just the most spectacular shade of blue. What a bargain!
