I’m a closet downtempo/ambient/chillout music fan (Bonobo, Zero 7, Psapp, anything Buddha Bar) and the other day while researching yooouuutuuube, I stumbled upon the work of Nick Bertke or Pogo who makes these incredible songs using sounds recorded from films. These three are my favourites.
Alice, 90% of which is composed using sounds recorded from Disney’s Alice In Wonderland
White Magic, made using sounds recorded from the film The Sword In The Stone
Alohamora, made using sounds recorded from the film ‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone

I did exactly the same thing – downloaded his album <3 Alice is so beautiful. Are you on last.fm or anything?

I am but I don’t think I use it properly, I use it very much as a search tool and don’t maximise its potential. I’m thisisweeny on last.fm

wow. the video is beautifully synced too.
i’ve been enjoying the music of a lad called Lukid.. he has two albums, Onandon and Foma, both full of very nice sample-laden downtempo (slightly hip hoppy) tunes.

Since you dig the downtempo, check out http://www.generalfuzz.net. There’s five albums available for free download. I think you’ll dig it.

Just got your comment on my AGideas journal and came to check out your site. Imagine my joy when I found this!
I came across Pogo a while back and I’ve been telling any and all who will listen.
