Okay just days after I say I haven’t found a cause I would fight for, turns out I actually have. Equal rights. At the moment, I am sickened and saddened and seething about Prop 8 being upheld in California. Some of the most important people in my life are gay and this verdict disappoints and angers me possibly as much as it does them. Protect marriage is their shitty excuse for a campaign? I cannot understand the hatred and energy devoted to something that will never even effect the close minded, intolerant persons opposed to it. Discrimination based on sexual orientation seems so medieval and unjust and unnecessary. To take a step forward and then two steps back is just a shame particularly in such an influential and otherwise liberal state. I can’t fathom why people cannot just live and let live.
Support equal rights – gay or straight. People should be allowed to love who they want and how they want. I don’t care if this offends anyone who reads my blog. If it does, you better leave because you fucking offend me you bigot fuckazoid.
